PLOT
In Speed Grapher, a former war photographer named Tatsumi Saiga explores the Roppongi Club, a covert fetish club for the super-rich. He tries to take a picture of Kagura, a 15-year-old exploited girl who is the club's "goddess," but gets caught. Kagura kisses him as he is going to be executed, giving him the power to destroy anything he photographs. Soon after, Saiga learns that Kagura's bodily secretions, such as her saliva, when combined with a specific "virus," can give people strange skills related to their irrational lusts, fetishes, and obsessions. Members of the club compete for the privilege of using Kagura's power to become "gifted." Saiga quickly becomes involved with this covert underground community and the ruthless megacorporation known as the Tennzu Group, which controls it. The two of them are forced to flee from the Tennzu Group and bloodthirsty club members with strange and frequently terrifying special abilities as a result of his attempt to release Kagura.
