PLOT
In Robotics;Notes, the player takes on the persona of fighting game enthusiast Kaito Yashio. Along with his childhood friend Akiho Senomiya, he is a member of the robot club at his school. The narrative starts when Akiho chooses to work with Kaito to create a robot inspired by the Gunvarrel anime series, which she enjoys. The robot club is desperately in need of new members and is on the verge of disbanding until Kaito sets out to find them. Along the way, he gains the backing of professional robot battler Subaru Hidaka, karate expert Junna Daitoku, and renowned programmer Frau Kojiro. Together, they start constructing the Gunbuild-1, their clone of the namesake Gunvarrel. The practical difficulty of completely recreating Gunvarrel, however, swiftly dawns on them, and they are forced to make a number of design concessions. They are able to construct the more sophisticated Gunbuild-2 in addition to the comparatively simple Gunbuild-1. Additionally, they use augmented reality to alter the appearance of both Gunbuilds via the Iru-O technology.
