PLOT
The narrative centers on Yu Narukami, a shy adolescent who, as a result of his parents' overseas employment, relocates to Inaba for a year to live with his uncle and cousin. Yu and his new friends Yosuke Hanamura and Chie Satonaka discover a strange world hidden inside the television after investigating a rumor about a mysterious "Midnight Channel" that appears on televisions on rainy days. This world is home to strange monsters known as Shadows and a curious bear-like creature called Teddie. Here, Yu discovers a mystical ability called "Persona" that enables him to battle the Shadows. Yu and his buddies quickly learn that the unexplained pattern of murders that take place during foggy days in this TV World are connected. Yu and his pals, together with Teddie, organize an investigating team with the goal of saving those who are tossed into the TV before they fall victim to the Shadows and identifying the person or people responsible for the crimes after the Midnight Channel alerts them to possible victims. As the plot develops, the team saves a number of individuals who wind up joining them as allies after overcoming their own Shadows and developing Personas, including Chie's best friend Yukiko Amagi, criminal Kanji Tatsumi, idol Rise Kujikawa, and rookie detective Naoto Shirogane. Together, Yu and his friends take on the threat posed by the Shadows while simultaneously making the most of their formative years in school.
