PLOT
Okami-san & her Seven Companions, set in the fictional Otogibana City, follows the life of Ryoko Okami (the titular Okami-san) and her pals, or companions, while they serve as members of the Otogi High School Bank, a "trading" club. At the beginning of the series, an unidentified stranger helps Ryoko and her partner, Ringo, while they are on a normal service assignment. On her walk home from school the following day, Ryoko runs across Ryshi Morino, a boy in her class who she has a crush on. Ryoko confronts Ryshi, who then admits his love for her and that he had been stalking her. Ryoko rejects this admission on the grounds that he is weak. Ryshi, though, promises that he will grow strong enough to merit being able to stand at her side. Later in the series, Ryoko and Ringo learn that Ryshi was the person who assisted them on their service assignment with the help of the bank, and after Ryshi assists the two in a fight during another service assignment, Ryoko accepts Ryshi as someone she can rely on to keep an eye on her. In this way, the plot of the series evolves as Ryoko falls in love with Ryshi and parodies various fairy tales, including "Little Red Riding Hood," "The Ant and the Grasshopper," "The Tortoise and the Hare," "Cinderella," "Hansel and Gretel," "The Little Match Girl," and others.
