PLOT
Alice Sakaguchi, a high school student, her seven-year-old next-door neighbor Rin Kobayashi, an elementary school student, and five other adolescent students are the main characters of the novel. They frequently dream about a team of alien scientists studying the Earth from their base on the moon. When Alice first discovers that her friends Jinpachi and Issei had shared recurrent dreams going back to middle school, she initially doesn't think much of it until she eventually has one of these "moon dreams" herself. They begin to believe that the other four scientists can each be located because of the nature of these dreams, the way Issei always dreams as the same person, and Jinpachi as well now that Alice has offered a third point of view. The three decide to find these other people in an effort to make sense of their dreams, almost like playing a simple game. They are able to ultimately contact the other four individuals thanks to Issei's suggestion, some patience, and good fortune. However, as the six teenagers and one toddler begin to put together the timeline and details of their visions, they come to understand that their "dreams" are actually suppressed memories of previous lives that tragically came to an end. And now, as their "game" starts to fall apart, the youngsters must work to accept what happened in their previous lives as they fight to keep the rivalries, jealousies, and questionable behavior from their previous lives from affecting their current ones.
