PLOT
In a gift from her long-lost grandfather, 12-year-old Sandy Brown discovers a plush Koala named Blinky that was lost in a shipwreck 38 years earlier. Sandy wakes the koala from "magic sleepytime" by giving him a Noozle, another name for an Eskimo Kiss. In response to Sandy thinking aloud about what she should call the bear just before she awakens him, he says, "Blinky!!" for the first time. After Blinky is woken, Pinky, who appears out of nowhere, quickly joins them and insists that Blinky immediately accompany her back to KoalaWalla Land. However, Blinky declines, and the group goes on to have a lot of adventures. The Eucalyptus trees Sandy's grandmother planted 38 years prior, just before Sandy's grandfather, an archaeologist who mysteriously vanished while on an expedition to Ayers Rock, informed her that he was sending a Koala as a gift because Sandy's grandmother had stated that she had always wanted one as a pet, are what allow Blinky to survive while living on Earth with Sandy.
