PLOT
The plot centers on Kouhei Morioka, a free-lance photographer, and Hazuki, a young woman descended from a royal vampire lineage. Kouhei visits a castle in Germany at the start of the narrative to capture images of eerie occurrences for his friend Hiromi, the editor of an occult magazine. Kouhei encounters Hazuki at the castle, who seizes Kouhei as her unwilling ward and consumes his blood. Even though this "blood bond" is meant to make Kouhei Hazuki's subservient slave, Kouhei is unaffected by her actions. Hazuki flies to Tokyo and moves in with Kouhei at his grandfather's home in Japan after an exciting sorcerers' battle in which Kouhei and his cousin manage to release Hazuki from her incarceration in the gloomy castle. Kouhei consistently rejects Hazuki's commands, especially when he believes them to be absurd, despite the fact that she says he is now her servant because she consumed his blood. Even though they frequently argue, their bond grows over time—despite numerous attacks by rival vampires—until Kouhei decides to defend Hazuki from the vampire family servants who are determined to have her back by any means necessary.
