PLOT

When the deep space salvage freighter Corona comes across a distress signal while on a mission, it responds to it. They discover a cemetery of spacecraft circling a massive space station. Heintz and Miguel, two of the crew's engineers, go inside to take a closer look. When they finally go inside, they uncover an opulent European decor and a number of furnished chambers (in varied levels of decay), but they don't detect any indications of life. They learn that the station formerly belonged to Eva Friedel, a well-known opera diva who vanished following the assassination of her fiancé, singer Carlo Rambaldi. The engineers split up to continue looking for the signal's source while everyone had paranormal experiences, including hearing weird noises and seeing Eva. When Miguel penetrates the station's decaying basement, he discovers a broken piano playing the distress call in a large room. As he starts to dream, Eva rushes over to kiss him. When Heintz discovers a theater stage and approaches Eva, she stabs him. Heintz relives a recollection of his family, including his wife and daughter Emily, after being paralyzed unexpectedly. When Eva assumes the guise of his wife and assures him that he "will never go," the illusion is dispelled. Miguel has been duped by Eva into believing he is Carlo, and when Heintz rushes to save him, he discovers this. Heintz learns from Eva that she murdered the real Carlo since he refused to become her husband and made others adopt his appearance. She almost persuades Heintz to join her after making him relive the death of his daughter. He fights back and fires at the enormous computer that is built into the ceiling, breaking the AI hologram of Eva.
