PLOT
A typical 14-year-old middle school student named Naru Sekiya enjoys fairy tales but worries that she doesn't have any other hobbies. She meets a "fairy," a foreign girl who is nightly practicing dance, by happenstance. Naru requests to join her on the whim of the moment and is then exposed to the world of yosakoi dance. The first two letters of the girls' first names—Hana, Naru, Yaya, Machi, and Tami—were combined to create the series' title.
