PLOT
The planet Barm's survivors flee after their home world is destroyed in order to negotiate the purchase of land on Earth so that they can immigrate there. Unfortunately, the Barmian leader, Leon, is killed during the negotiations by his deputy, Olban, and the Earth delegation is blamed for the crime. Doctor Isamu Ryuuzaki of the Earth delegation is shot and murdered in the following mayhem. Following the unfortunate conclusion of the negotiations, the Barmians (referred to as "Valerians" in Starbirds) launch a terror campaign against Earth under the direction of Admiral Richter, Leon's son, who sends out a variety of "Mecha Soldiers" to attack the planet's defenses. The morphing, karate-using super robot Daimos and its pilot, Kazuya Ryuuzaki, are the sole beings preventing the extinction of humanity. But when he meets and falls in love with Erika, a mystery girl who turns out to be Richter's sister, that all changes. During their attempts to reconnect, Kazuya and Erika discover that the other's people are not all bad... and that their own people are not all nice.
