PLOT
Yuji Kaido, a typical young adult male in the year 2009, is put into cryogenic sleep until a cure for his deadly illness (the "B-cells") is developed. He awakens in the midst of a brutal war between armored soldiers and insectoid monsters known as the "Blue," which had taken over the Earth, 22 years later. The warriors were sent to retrieve "sleepers" around the Earth by their space colony, collectively known as Second Earth. One of them is Marlene Angel, who at first glance seems to have no compassion for others. Many of the people who were left behind during the evacuation due to a lack of resources are encountered by Yuji on the way to Second Earth. Standing orders for Marlene and the other troops state that any human survivors on the surface are presumed to be dead, which deeply concerns Yuji.
