PLOT
In a fantasy realm, Tatsumi, a fighter, travels to the Capital with his two childhood friends Iyeyasu and Sayo in quest of a method to make money to help his poor village. He also discovers a world filled with unspeakable corruption, all emanating from the corrupt Prime Minister who has power over the young Emperor's ear. Tatsumi tries in vain to join the army and is conned out of his money in the Capital after being separated from his friends during a bandit attack. After being fostered by an aristocratic family, he finds out that they really wanted to torture and kill him like they had done to his comrades when Night Raid, which is a team of assassins committed to eliminating the corruption afflicting the Capitol by ruthlessly killing those responsible, attacks. He thus joins Night Raid.
