Years ago, Genma Saotome, at the brink of starvation, encountered a man who offered to trade some fish for Ranma. In the present time, the man travels to Tokyo in order to clain Ranma as his future son-in-law. A martial arts take-out race ensues, wherein Akane's loss will mean Ranma's marriage to the man's daughter.
