PLOT
The television program is based on the same-named comic strip. Joe Larsen, his wife Liz, their three children, Tracy, Zelda, and Nicholas, as well as their family dog, Bob, are all present. The humor of the program is on the parents' attempts to maintain a balance between rearing their children and their professional and personal life. In the cartoon's interludes, Bob performs as a Greek chorus. In the course of the series, Bob also breaks the fourth wall. The program uses well-known voice actors for characters like Joe Larsen (Eugene Levy), Liz Larsen (Catherine O'Hara), Frances Wilder (Andrea Martin), and Bob the Dog (Dave Foley).
