Code Lyoko: Evolution

Aelita Schaeffer, Jeremy Belpois, Odd Della Robbia, Ulrich Stern, Yumi Ishiyama, and recently welcomed William Dunbar return to their regular lives and routines at Kadic Academy one year after the events of the anime series' thirty-episode fourth season. Despite having previously defeated X.A.N.A., it reappears out of nowhere, stronger and more powerful than ever. To once more defend humanity from the menace of X.A.N.A., the protagonists restart their prior double lives and activate Franz Hopper's quantum supercomputer, which powers the virtual world Lyoko. The seven heroes are determined to figure out the reasons for such a return and to eliminate X.A.N.A., the autonomous, sentient multi-agent system/artificial intelligence that is once again posing a threat to humanity. They are joined by William Dunbar, who has finally been accepted as the sixth Lyoko Warrior, and an unreliable girl-genius named Laura Gauthier. Due to a shortage of some crucial "Source Codes," which it injected into the Lyoko Warriors—aside from William—during their final virtualization in the original series, X.A.N.A. is currently unable to take over the network and is instead attempting to recover them through its polymorphic specters. Jeremy claims that nothing will be able to stop X.A.N.A from regaining control of the internet if it does so. The carrier can disable towers on Lyoko under X.A.N.A's supervision, making anyone but William capable of doing so as opposed to simply Aelita alone, which is one advantage of possessing Codes. Jeremy is developing a virus with Laura's assistance in the hopes that it would this time successfully eradicate X.A.N.A.
