PLOT
Max Goof, who is 14 years old and the only child of Goofy, and he have a strained relationship because Max worries about becoming like his father. On the last day of classes before summer break, Max, P.J., and Robert "Bobby" Zimuruski, Max's closest friends, invade the auditorium during Principal Mazur's speech to stage a mini-concert in which Max sings while dressed as the pop artist Powerline. After impressing Roxanne, Max's love interest, and becoming a school celebrity thanks to the performance, Max, P.J., and Bobby are summoned to Mazur's office. Roxanne meets Max while waiting outside the workplace and accepts his invitation to attend her best friend Stacey's party where Powerline's performance would be streamed live via pay-per-view. Mazur, though, cautions Goofy that Max's actions could end in the death penalty. Goofy intends to take Max on a fishing trip from Spoonerville, in their home state of Ohio, to Lake Destiny, Idaho, using a cross-country map route he and his father took in the 1960s, unaware of Max's plans with Roxanne and worried for his son's future. Max successfully cancels their date with Roxanne before they leave town, but when the devastated Roxanne contemplates going with someone else, Max panics and makes up a lie about his father knowing Powerline, informing her he would be performing at the event.
