PLOT
Rex (Johnny Counterfit), a learned Tyrannosaurus rex, and Herb (Tim Conner), a dim-witted, bespectacled Styracosaurus with a gluttonous appetite, co-host the special. The two had both appeared in Will Vinton videos dating back to 1980, such as Dinosaur, but this Christmas special marks the first time they have dialogue and modern personalities while also obliquely parodying Siskel and Ebert. Rex and Herb introduce a number of stand-alone movies of Christmas carols and holiday classics while the setting is a recreation of London's Christmas Square. They also go through the history of each song as it relates to various holiday customs from across the world.
