PLOT
The series' protagonist Kevin Keene, a teenager from Northridge, Los Angeles, California, and his dog Duke are transported to a different realm called Videoland at the beginning of the first episode when they are dragged into a vortex called the Ultimate Warp Zone that developed in his television. Kevin is supposed to become the hero "Captain N: The Game Master" and save Videoland from evil forces headed by Mother Brain from the floating world/fortress known as Metroid in order to fulfill an old prophecy. Mother Brain has almost succeeded in seizing the Palace of Power and taking control of all of Videoland by the time Kevin arrives on the scene. The N Team, which consists of Princess Lana (the acting ruler of Videoland as the first episode explains the absence of her father the King), Simon Belmont, Mega Man, and Kid Icarus, suddenly appears on the other side of the Ultimate Warp Zone before Kevin (who in Videoland is armed with a Zapper and a belt buckle shaped like a NES controller) and Duke. At first, none of them express any confidence in Kevin's abilities. The reluctant gang, however, sets their differences aside to go on a rescue mission after Lana is abducted by the enemy soon after Kevin's arrival, where Kevin gradually wins the others' trust. A supercomputer the size of a human named Game Boy joins the N Team in season 2.
