PLOT

This television show features a live-action host in an animated setting, just like the original 1996 series. The characters in the series have fresh production designs and are digitally animated (apart from the presenter), but the visual aesthetic is still quite similar to that of the first season. Blue's Clues & You!, like the original show, relies on intentional pauses to elicit audience participation and what The New York Times called "direct address inviting preschoolers to play along with games and solve mini-mysteries." Although preschoolers today have greater access to technology and are more visually oriented than they were in the past, the show's creators understood that nostalgia was the reason for its return and that young children still needed to "slow down" for developmental and emotional reasons.
