PLOT
A talented young medical student seeks to establish himself in the 1960s. A shy young guy with odd black and white hair, scars all over his body, and a troubled past, Kuroo Hazama is restrained. His surgical genius begins to draw attention despite merely being a medical student after he completes an apparently difficult operation. Hazama dedicates himself to the field of medicine along with the vivacious and sincere intern Maiko Okamoto and Yabu, a close buddy with a difficult life. However, given that student uprisings, war, and corruption are roiling Japan, his route to become a respectable surgeon is challenging. Hazama is rapidly drawn into a succession of unscrupulous situations that put his moral character and aspirations to become a surgeon in jeopardy. Young Black Jack tells the tale of a doctor who is capable of incredible medical marvels and his road to becoming the legendary Black Jack.
