PLOT
Each power, referred to as a "toy," has characteristics that are specific to the person who is chosen to utilize it. Some of these people are pure from birth, and they use their abilities to work as detectives. Others decide to become phantom thieves and bloom with poison. These two opposing factions caused the formation of various detective academies around the globe—training detectives to fight and catch the phantom thieves. The "Milky Holmes" team—which includes Sherlock Shellingford, Nero Yuzurizaki, Hercule Burton, and Cordelia Glauca—is regarded as the best at the Yokohama-based Holmes Detective Academy. However, during a battle with the phantom thief Arsene, their Toys mysteriously vanish, rendering them ineligible to serve as detectives any more. They are expelled if they are unable to restore their powers within the next three months after being stripped of their prestigious life and placed in a dilapidated attic. Opera Tantei A formerly-famous group sets out to find their Toys in Milky Holmes' tale, while also struggling to carry on with their field of business without the abilities that once made them successful.
