PLOT
Nothing would make Matoi Sumeragi happier than to live a typical life away from the spotlight. She is content to work sporadically at Yuma Kusanagi's family shrine in addition to attending school. But when the wicked extradimensional creature known as a Night attacks the shrine, this normal life is irreparably disrupted. Matoi successfully repels it by unintentionally summoning the divine forces that make up the Nights' natural foes. Soon after, agent Haruka Luciela from the covert Night defense group IATO and veteran exorcist Claris Tonitolus of the Vatican accompany Matoi and Yuma. Matoi must learn to control her newfound power despite not knowing who is responsible for these attacks or their intended target in order to safeguard the people close to her and the once-normal life she values so highly.
