PLOT
The Valbanil War's remaining nations proclaimed peace and outlawed the employment of the terrible demon contracts that had wreaked havoc on the world 44 years prior. Cecily Cambell, a novice knight, is now ready to follow in her family's footsteps and defend the citizens of the city with the sword her father left her. The market presents her with her first difficulty. When a mad swordsman starts tossing about innocent bystanders, Cecily steps in to help bring things back to normal. When she becomes too overwhelmed, her weapon breaks, but a competent stranger with a strange-looking blade steps in to save her. Once the crisis has been resolved, Cecily seeks out a local blacksmith to work on repairing the family treasure. She learns that her hero, the blacksmith Luke Ainsworth, might be the only one capable of making such complex repairs. She goes in search of the guy who saved her, determined to have her priceless sword fixed. A caravan, nevertheless, is unexpectedly attacked by bandits as it approaches the city. An ice demon also appears, and the attackers appear to be inhuman. Luke invokes a sacred force to thwart them since he believes a demon contract was used. A distant observer in the form of a cloaked figure lurks in the shadows. What does the unknown evildoer's appearance entail for the duo and who is he?
