PLOT
Masanosuke "Masa" Akitsu is a lost ronin in the tranquil Edo era of Japan. Masa is a superb swordsman, but his timid nature has earned him the title of "unreliable," and he is frequently fired without warning by his employers, which causes him to doubt his commitment as a samurai. When Masa is at his lowest, Yaichi, a carefree man dressed in pink, approaches him and appears to employ him as his bodyguard on a whim. Masa is dragged into the group's illegal activities without realizing it since the job is not as benign as it first appears to be. Yaichi is the group's leader. Masa fights with his own morals as he grows more and more involved with the Five Leaves gang. However, he is driven by curiosity to learn more about the history and intentions of this enigmatic band of criminals.
