PLOT
The television series is set in 1999, a futuristic year at the time. At his observatory in Tokyo, Professor Amamori finds a tenth planet in our solar system, which he names La-Metal. It is nine times as big as the Earth. Amamori observes the planet's very erratic orbit and learns that La-Metal is headed straight toward Earth as it emerges behind far-off Pluto. According to his calculations, the planet will strike Earth on September 9, 1999, at 9 am, 9 min, and 9 sec. La-Metal orbits the Solar System once every thousand years, but only this time is it destined to get extremely close to Earth. The immense gravitational pull of the planet would destroy Earth, but would cause only minor harm to the giant ice-covered La-Metal. A underground humanoid civilization called La-inhabitants Metal's are governed by the enigmatic Holy Queen Larela. Before Earth is destroyed, she intends to kidnap a sizable number of people, enslave them, and use her agents currently present on Earth to do it. These agents are under the command of Andromeda Promethium, a Millennial Queen known as Yukino Yayoi on Earth. Like many other Millennial Queens before her, she has been residing on Earth for for a thousand years with the goal of founding a colony for her home planet.
