PLOT
The novel is set in an universe where "Shadows" are created out of anxiety and terror in modern-day London. A young woman travels to study abroad only to get involved in an odd incident as she enrolls in college. The vulnerable girl stumbles into "Café Forbidden," a mystery café that only opens at midnight in a city where she has no contacts. At the café, where guardians who preserve the border between humans and shadow gather, she runs into a variety of attractive males who work there.
