PLOT
The son of a well-known general, Second Lieutenant Kei Agemaki, has spent his entire life concealing his intense dread of supernatural things. He meets his biggest dread, though, when he and two others are sent to the Ministry of Spirit Affairs, where they live and work with youkai. He and his fellow officers must now learn to collaborate with youkai maidens Zakuro, Susukihotaru, Hoozuki, and Bonbori in order to investigate paranormal cases with the aid of the fox spirit Kushimatsu. Otome Youkai Zakuro investigates the confrontations and unions that can happen when east meets west, local meets international, and women meet men. It is set in the midst of an alternate version of Japanese Westernization. In a world that is changing all around them, the unique alliance of the youkai maidens and human officers must learn to cooperate.
