"Onikirimaru" or "Ogre Slayer" is a supernatural horror anime OVA series based on the manga by Kei Kusunoki. The series was released from 1994 to 1995. The series follows the protagonist, known only as the Ogre Slayer, who carries the legendary ogre-killing sword, Onikirimaru. He is the last of a clan that has the mission of slaying ogres, monstrous creatures who torment humanity. The Ogre Slayer, neither fully human nor ogre, walks a lonely path, hunting down these creatures wherever they appear, while also dealing with his tragic past and the curse that comes with his powers.
