PLOT
The lone heir of a commanding yakuza family is Raku Ichijou, a first-year student at Bonyari High School. Raku made a pledge to a friend from his youth ten years ago. The only thing he has left to go on is a pendant with a lock that can only be opened with the key the girl took when they split up. Years later, Raku has matured into an ordinary adolescent and all he wants is to avoid his yakuza heritage as much as he can while spending his days at school with his middle school sweetheart Kosaki Onodera. Raku's idealistic romantic fantasies, however, are dashed when the American Bee Hive Gang intrudes on his family's territory and forces him to engage in a frustrating conflict: Raku is required to pretend that he is in a relationship with Chitoge Kirisaki, the attractive daughter of the Bee Hive's chief, in order to lessen tension between the two groups. Unfortunately, reality is very different from this blatant falsehood; Raku and Chitoge have an instant dislike for one another because the girl thinks he's a pitiful pushover and Raku finds Chitoge to be about as appealing as a wild gorilla. Nisekoi follows the daily exploits of this odd couple, who must coexist in order to keep the peace in the city. His search for the girl who holds his heart and his vow is complicated by the abundance of new girls who appear in his life and are all somehow connected to Raku's history.
