PLOT
The events of Mushi-tale uta's take occur not long from now. Ten years prior to the beginning of the novel, strange "Mushi" or insect-like monsters started to appear. In exchange for superhuman abilities, the Mushi are able to absorb other people's dreams and thoughts. The main character Daisuke "Kakkou" Kusuriya meets Shiika Anmoto towards the conclusion of episode one. Over time, the two grow pretty close. Kakkou is unaware that Shiika is an escapee from the GARDEN prison, a covert facility used to hold those who have been captured by the Mushi and are known as Mushitsuki. Shiika is being sought after by the Special Environmental Conservation Executive Office, GARDEN's military wing. However, they must contend with opposition from the covert "Ladybird"-led Mushibane resistance group.
