PLOT
Aoi Mashiro, a high school student, moved away from home six months ago, but she now wants to go back to confront her ex-boyfriend after a recent breakup. She steals two hanging scrolls from her grandfather's attic in order to purchase a train ticket. She then takes the stolen items to an antique shop in Kyoto's Teramachi Sanjou neighborhood to have them valued. She has no idea that this visit will lead to a tragic incident. Kiyotaka Yagashira, a graduate student at Kyoto University and the owner's grandson, welcomes Aoi when she enters the store. Kiyotaka, known as "Holmes" due to a play on his last name and his extraordinary analytical abilities, examines the scrolls that Aoi brought with her. Kiyotaka can see that Aoi has amazing intuition because of the things she chose to sell, much like he does. Kiyotaka, who recognizes Aoi's ability and empathizes with her situation, offers her a part-time work so she may support herself financially. Soon after, Aoi and Kiyotaka start working together, not only in the antique business but also whenever the villagers come to them for assistance with their numerous issues. No case is too difficult for this modern-day Holmes and Watson team thanks to Kiyotaka's deduction skills and Aoi's intuition!
