PLOT
Manga writer Shin Karino is one day greeted by his new next-door neighbor, 4-year-old Kotarou Satou, who gives him a box of Kleenex as a gift. Karino thinks Kotarou is a strange kid since he speaks in a very formal tone and lives alone in an apartment with no sign of his parents or other family members. Kotarou, though, doesn't seem to mind or to desire to rely on people. Karino decides to accompany Kotarou to a bathhouse in case anything were to happen to him out of concern for his well-being, and it's there that he realizes how similar the little kid is to him. Karino, along with the other occupants of the apartment building, gradually warms to Kotarou and his antics. Kotarou himself might have discovered a family in his unusual neighbors at the same time.
