PLOT
Shouko Komi has already attained the position of Madonna at the elite Itan Private High School on her first day there. She stands tall and elegant, attracting the attention of everyone she encounters with her beautiful black hair. There is just one issue, though: Shouko is awful at interpersonal communication, despite her popularity. Hitohito Tadano is a typical high school student. He rapidly discovers that sitting next to Shouko has turned him into everyone's adversary in his class, despite his life credo of "read the situation and make sure to keep out of trouble"! Hitohito is accidentally knocked out one day and awakens to the sound of Shouko's "meow." He makes up that he didn't hear anything, which makes Shouko flee. Before Shouko can run away, Hitohito deduces that she finds it difficult to talk to people and that she has never been able to create a single friend. Hitohito decides to assist Shouko in achieving her goal of meeting 100 friends in order to help her get over her communication difficulty.
