The head of a dragon was glaring at Kobayashi from across the balcony as she left for another day at work. This was an unusually terrifying sight for Kobayashi. The dragon soon changes into Tooru, a cute, boisterous, and vivacious young lady wearing a maid uniform. The stoic programmer had encountered the dragon the night before while on a drunken hike in the mountains, and since the legendary beast had nowhere else to go, she had offered the creature a place to stay at her home. Tooru had so come to take advantage of the opportunity, prepared to pay back her savior's compassion by serving as her personal maidservant. Despite feeling terrible about what she said and being hesitant to keep her word, Kobayashi decides to take the girl in thanks to a combination of guilt and Tooru's amazing dragon talents. Despite being incredibly effective at her job, the maid's unconventional housekeeping techniques frequently horrify Kobayashi and can cause more trouble than good. Tooru also carries some strong emotions and traumatic memories, which makes the circumstances surrounding the dragon's landing on Earth appear to be much more convoluted than they initially appear to be. To top it all off, Tooru's presence ends up luring a number of other mythical creatures to her new residence, bringing in a variety of oddball characters. Nothing had prepared Kobayashi for this new life with a dragon maid, despite her best efforts to manage the odd predicament she had found herself in.
