PLOT
Sawako Kuronuma, known as "Sadako," is misconstrued to be fearsome and evil like her fictional counterpart, Sadako, despite having a shy and kind demeanor. This is because of how similar the two women are to one another. Sawako is naturally drawn to the upbeat and amiable Shouta Kazehaya, the most popular boy in her class, because she longs to make friends and lead a regular life. Sawako has admired Kazehaya's capacity for being the center of attention since they first met and has wanted to be just like him. Sawako sees the opportunity to get along with her classmates, starting with Ayane Yano and Chizuru Yoshida, when Kazehaya arranges a test of bravery for the entire class and urges her to participate. Sawako feels that she has changed for the better since meeting Kazehaya with each new experience and emotion she goes through. Sawako is unaware that Kazehaya has also been altered by her presence.
