PLOT
Half-beast, half-human soldiers were developed with the start of the Patrian Civil War by the outnumbered Northerners in an effort to repel the overwhelming Southern armies. The warriors' godlike talents gave them the ability to easily win battles and soon control them, giving them the appellation "Incarnates." The Incarnates, however, ran into an issue regarding the animals inside them that they were unable to solve using conventional methods as the fight dragged on. After the battle was done, rumors and speculations about the Incarnates giving in to their wartime misery began to circulate. Hank Henriette, a former captain of the Incarnates and a Special Sergeant Major, turns into a Beast Hunter after learning of the horrors the Incarnates endured during the war. A Beast Hunter kills Incarnates who have died due to the problems they faced on the battlefields. Nancy Schaal Bancroft decides to track down the Beast Hunter who killed her father after seeing her father, a former Incarnate soldier, perish at the hands of one of them. Nancy instead decides to look into her father's passing and the Incarnates' unsettling presence in society after an eye-opening experience with the Beast Hunter.
