PLOT
For Risa Koizumi and Atsushi Ootani, who are both looking for their ideal companion in high school and are both 172 cm tall, love is strange. Koizumi is significantly taller than the typical female, whereas Ootani is considerably shorter (156 cm) than the typical male. Koizumi and Ootani are comically flustered and heartbroken when their crushes fall in love with one other, adding to their predicament. To make matters worse, their classmates mistake their disputes for sketches, and their homeroom instructor even refers to them as a comic team due to their personalities and obvious differences in height. Koizumi and Ootani are portrayed in Lovely Complex as they support one another in finding love and develop into great friends. They quickly discover an unexpected resemblance in their musical and fashion choices, aside from their outrageous pranks. Could a relationship between the mismatched couple ever blossom? Perhaps they have some undiscovered chemistry.
