PLOT
After snatching the body of his archenemy, Jonathan Joestar's vampire foe Dio emerges from the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean in 1983. In 1988, Dio creates a manifestation of life energy known as a Stand, leading to the acquisition of Stands by Jonathan's offspring Joseph Joestar, Holly Kujo, and Jotaro Kujo. Holly becomes ill and is given a prognosis of fifty days left to live because she lacks the strength to control her Stand. To free Holly from the disease caused by the Stand, Jotaro, Joseph, and fellow Stand users Muhammad Avdol and Noriyaki Kakyoin go from Japan to Egypt. Later, the group is joined by Iggy, a dog that uses the Stand, and Jean Pierre Polnareff, a former assassin of Dio who is seeking retribution for the murder of his sister. Jotaro kills Dio in Egypt with the help of Kakyoin, who reveals the nature of Dio's time-stopping Stand The World in his final moments. This allows Holly to recover.
