PLOT
Animals with the innate capacity to perform magic, known as Jewelpets, coexisted peacefully in Jewel Land with Magicians studying at the Magic Academy to master the art of using their Jewel Eyes. Ruby, a white Japanese Hare whose power occasionally fails, is chosen to travel to the Human World in quest of a spouse whose heartfelt emotions align with her own. But when she uses the card the magicians offer her, she unintentionally travels to the Human World. On her way to school there, a girl by the name of Akari Sakura runs into her on the beach. Ruby takes a special candy so she can talk and understand human language, but at first Akari cannot understand her because of her Jewel Land Language. As the day goes on, Ruby becomes aware of Akari's academic issues and later apologizes for not knowing about her personal issues while trying to uplift her. When Akari agrees to partner with Ruby, a Jewel Charm materializes on her palm, letting her know that she was Ruby's choice. After that, she and Ruby decide to enroll as students in Jewel Land in order to amass 12 Jewel Stones and qualify for the Jewel Star Grand Prix. Any three wishes they have will be granted as the reward.
