INFORMATION

PLOT

"Jetter Mars" is an anime television series produced by Toei Animation that aired in Japan in the early 1970s. The series was born from an idea to make a cost-effective adaptation of "Astro Boy," a series by Osamu Tezuka, often known as the godfather of anime. While Tezuka was not heavily involved in the production of "Jetter Mars," the series shares many similarities with "Astro Boy." Set in the future year of 2015, "Jetter Mars" revolves around a robot boy named Mars, who was originally created as a replacement for the deceased son of Dr. Yamanoue. However, before his 'son' was finished, the doctor manages to save his dying son, resulting in two 'sons'. As a result, Mars is modified to become a fighting machine. Mars, who possesses both a human consciousness and high-performance power, fights against evil forces who pose threats to humanity. As he fights, he often grapples with his own identity and the ethical implications of his existence.
