PLOT
Joey, an orphaned American child, attends school while working at a restaurant in Center City on the West Coast. He lives with his grandmother. Joey is convinced that owning a Heybo, a brand-new toy robot, will improve his life and make him a hero who can defend his friends and family. On the other hand, his small salary prevents him from purchasing it. When he picks up a broken-down Heybo left by a bully at school, his luck changes. Heroman is the name he gives it as he attempts to mend it, but he is unsuccessful in making it function. But when it is touched by an odd lightning strike, it changes into a massive robot in time to save his friend Lina from harm. Joey and Heroman are now the planet's last line of defense against the wicked insect-like Skrugg invaders that Joey's science teacher unintentionally sent to Earth.
