PLOT

In the not too distant future, the Japanese Self-Defense Force makes the decision to hand over control (and funding) of their air force to business entities and investors. Most people dismiss the idea as a joke, but certain companies focused on show business pick up on it, leading to the emergence of a new category of idols: famous combat pilots dubbed "Idol Pilots." Teenage idol singers known as The Hummingbirds are the five Toreishi sisters, Kanna, Yayoi, Satsuki, Uzuki, and Mina. They belong to the Japanese military's squadrons of ace fighter pilots. They pursue their idol careers on stage while wearing fancy gowns when they aren't defending the globe from grave threats coming from abroad. This is the tale of how they became the most popular idol group in Japan and its first line of defense.
