PLOT
Chitose Fujinomiya, a 14-year-old girl who was once extremely wealthy but is now an orphan, is expelled from her ultra-exclusive school, Tokai no Gakuen (City's Academy in English), and shunned by her former friends. She is assigned to Inaka no Chugakk, sometimes known as Inach (Country's Jr. High School in English), a rural public school with a severely needy student body that includes pigs, oxen, and chickens. The only thing Chitose still owns is a priceless pink goldfish named Gyopi that was a gift from her adored father. Her family's attorney tries to kidnap Gyopi, but is stopped by Chitose's new classmates, particularly Wapiko, a plain girl who is popular in school and is capable of outrunning practically anything. It turns out that Chitose isn't in need; the lawyer was just keeping her fortune a secret for himself. She decides to purchase the rural school instead of returning to the opulent one in an effort to make it competitive with the school attended by her former best friend and adversary. The rural school's kids, however, do not desire refinement.
