PLOT
Based on a brief passage from the Italian author Edmondo de Amicis' work Cuore, Marco is a little child who lives with his father Pietro in Genoa, Italy. However, Marco's mother left for Argentina about a year earlier in search of employment, thus the family is not complete. Her letters arrived frequently until they abruptly stopped one day. The small youngster is gripped with worry for his mother and what might have happened to her. Marco makes the decision to travel to Argentina in the hopes of finding his mother there. Pietro initially opposes Marco's proposal, but after being inspired by his son's enthusiasm, he eventually agrees to let the kid go. This marks the start of Marco's arduous emotional journey. Marco meets numerous people on his journey and gains maturity and acceptance of himself as a result of his meetings.
