PLOT
Ayumi Himekawa, a talented competitor, and Maya Kitajima, a dedicated stage actress, are rivals in the story Glass Mask, which tells of their competition. They are both working to achieve the level of performing prowess and professional achievement necessary to assume the title part in the storied theatrical production "The Crimson Goddess" ("Kurenai Tennyo"). Maya isn't very attractive or intelligent in school, but her love of acting is so intense that she has put her own life in danger countless times for a role. Maya wants to show the world and herself that she is valuable. Her mother has always told her that she is useless. Ayumi, on the other hand, is gifted and talented, and because of this, she is determined to flourish without the support of her well-known parents.
