PLOT
Shingo Ichinomiya used to be a lone company employee until the day he passed out and awoke as a young child named Wendelin von Benno Baumeister, the eighth son of the noble Baumeister family, in a wonderful fantasy realm. Due to his family's poverty, Wendelin is unlikely to inherit anything from his father because his eldest brother Kurt will inherit the family's riches and goods and the other brothers will quit the succession to pursue other sources of income. He searches through his father's library and discovers a magic testing ball that, when used, emits a rainbow of colors, demonstrating his magical prowess. Former court wizard turned restless zombie Alfred resolves to teach Wendelin everything he knows about magic in secret after sensing his presence. Wendelin learns how to use a sword and a magic spell thanks to Alfred, and as a result, he becomes a renowned adventurer who is well-known throughout the realm. Even while his talent could have made his family wealthy, in his case it simply made things worse.
