PLOT
Gin's son is born in the Japanese Alps several years after the events of Silver Fang, The Shooting Star Gin. An English Setter named GB promises to take the puppy to the Rocky Mountains and reunite him with his father after the dog's mother Sakura passes away from a disease. Weed, the English word for a wild plant, is the pup's given moniker by GB because he is "little yet powerful." The two discover upon their arrival at u that u has descended into chaos and a horrible beast is spreading havoc. Gin is absent, looking desperately for his partner. A group of dogs commanded by the German shepherd Jerome are encountered by Weed, GB, and other US soldiers. According to Jerome, the monster is actually a mutant canine that killed numerous scientists before escaping from a lab. When Weed's troop joins them, they are able to destroy the monster, but not before losing a number of soldiers, including Gin's former ally Smith.
