PLOT
Dinosaurs disappeared underground millions of years ago when "Getter Rays" suddenly descended upon Earth. They became enraged and resentful at the humans who replaced them on the surface after evolving into sentient beings, and they started planning their attack on humanity. Getter Robo, a device created by Professor Saotome and powered by the enigmatic Getter Rays, is engaged in combat with them. Three tenacious young men are in control of it: the brutal martial artist Nagare Ryoma, the insane but brilliant revolutionary Jin Hayato, and the hot-blooded judo instructor Tomoe Musashi. The soaring, axe-wielding Getter-1, the swift, drill-wielding Getter-2, and the robust, tank-like Getter-3 are three specially developed combat planes that can be controlled by each separately and merged in various ways to create three different kinds of huge robots.
