PLOT
In the setting of Dr. Slump, humans coexist with a variety of anthropomorphic animals and other things in Penguin Village. An inventor named Senbei Norimaki resides in this community. He creates Arale Norimaki, a young girl robot that he envisions as being the most ideal in the entire universe, in the first chapter. But it turns out that she really needs glasses. She is also extremely naive, and in later issues she has adventures like mistaking a large bear for a pet and bringing it home. Senbei does, to her credit, possess super-strength. The manga mostly centers on Senbei's inventions, rivalries, and romantic follies, as well as Arale's misunderstandings of humanity. As a foe of Senbei, Dr. Mashirito, a recurring bad guy, first appears in the middle of the series.
