PLOT
"Dog Days" is a fantasy anime series that first aired in 2011. The series is set in an alternate world known as Flonyard, which is populated by anthropomorphic animals. Wars in Flonyard are not like those in our world, but rather, are more like sports competitions, with no casualties or damage to the cities. The story begins when a young boy named Cinque Izumi, an athletic and friendly middle schooler from Earth, is chosen to become a hero in Flonyard. He is magically transported there to lead the Biscotti Republic in its annual war against the Galette Lion Dominion. Once in Flonyard, Cinque must adapt to this new world, its unique form of warfare, and its inhabitants, all while finding a way to balance his new responsibilities with his longing to return home. Along the way, he forms friendships with various inhabitants of Flonyard, including the dog-like princess of the Biscotti Republic, Millhiore, and the cat-like princess of the Galette Lion Dominion, Leonmitchelli.
